Shoes

You will need to purchase the nude piourette shoes for Live. We have a few pairs in the office. Not sure about the opener yet.

Line Dance Rehearsals

We will be working on our line dance for the next few Wednesdays instead of the large group. Please arrive to class on time so that we can work as much as possible. We will work on cleaning on large group on Saturdays for the next couple of weeks. Also, plan on attending on Thursdays from 9:00 - 10:00 pm starting this week until we finish the line dance.

10% Late Fee for Competitions

Please pay your balances in full before Saturday, January 22. The competitions add %10 late fees to our final balance after their deadlines. We will be forced to split this fee among the students who have an outstanding balance. Our competition fees are over $6,000. This is an extra $600 that we would have to pay. We cannot be expected to pay this money for you. Please catch up on all your balances as soon as possible.

Masks

We would like to have a volunteer to take the lead of the decorating the masks for the line dance for the B52's. Please email us if you are interested. TheLegacyDance@gmail.com

Do NOT buy Knee Pads

Please do not buy any knee pads for the new jump. We are going to take it out. Thanks

Costume Help

We will be working on costumes at the studio during the following times and need your help.


Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10:30-11:30

You will need:

black thread and needle
glue for rhinestones
Large black snaps - size 4 (they come on a card of 4)

Stage One Dates, Fees and Location

We will be attending Stage One competition March 11-13 at TPAC's Polk theatre. We know it is tough with these competitions back to back but we love Stage One and will not be able to travel to Atlanta this year to attend. We will be giving you a mid-month statement next week with the line dance costumes and the Stage One fees added on as well. These fees are due on Feb. 3.

Duo/Trio $98 divided by 2 or 3
Groups $35 each
Photogenic $30

New Line Dance Info

The B52's and Phantoms will be starting our new line dance on Saturday. Please make sure you can commit to attending all the rehearsals before you decide to participate in this line dance and that the costume and extra competition fees will fit into your budget. This dance will be the opening number of our recital. The costume cost will be $105 each. This does not include a few extra accessories that we will be adding to this costume. We will give you more details on Saturday.

Outstanding Balances

Due to the number of outstanding balances that have built up, we are going to have to start enforcing late fees. If the entire balance is not paid by the 15th of each month, we are forced to add $10 each month that a balance remains. Sorry to have to enforce this policy but we have a VERY large outstanding receivables balance to date. We will not be able to pay any student's competition fees upfront. If the student does not pay by the competition deadline, the student will not be able to participate in the competition. If you have an outstanding balance and "say" you are paying your competition fees but do not pay the remaining balance, we are not able to operate our business. The cost of competition dance should be no suprise to any of our existing students. We do realize times are hard but we cannot be expected to "carry" as many students as we are having to carry at this time. Please pay any outstanding balances in full in the next 2 weeks or let us know when you are planning on paying your oustanding balances. Thank you

Pointe Class and Monday Ballet Time Changes

From Lindsey...

Monday Ballet Technique will be moved from 8:00 pm to 7:00 pm beginning January 10 so that we can provide a pointe class at the 8:00 pm class.

All B52's are invited to join the pointe class but Phantoms that are interested will need to receive approval from Lindsey to attend the pointe class. It is very important that the student's ankles and feet are strong enough to participate in this class to avoid injury.

Please go to Spells in Green Hills to get fitted for your shoes. Their store hours are Monday - Saturday from 9:00 - 5:00. Avoid buying the following brands:
Russian Pointe, Gayner Munden and Freed.

Also, buy ribbon and toe pads ( we will provide elastic). Lindsey recommends the Ouch Pouches or lambswool toe pads. Make sure to wear your toe pads when trying on the shoes.

Shoes should fit snug and they should feel supportive around the toes. You should have about a fingers width behind your heel.

Please purchase your shoes before attending class.

There is no extra cost for this class. There will be a recital dance and a costume to purchase for this dance from the recital catalogs. We will try to keep this costume below $70. Thanks!

Duet / Trio - $92 divided by 2 for duos, divided by 3 for trios
Small Group, Large Group, Lines and Grand Lines will be $32 per person
